Here is a list of the ten best supercars, their release dates, and what makes them special among the rest.

1. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport ($1,725,000 est)
Released in 2011, this super car has a BHP of 1,200. It can go from 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds with a max speed of 258mph. The super sport is the fastest production car in the world and is limited to 258mph to stop the car’s tires from disintegrating.

2. Koenigsegg Agera R ($1,020,000)
Released in 2013, this super car has a BHP of 1,140. It can go from 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds with a max speed of 273mph. The Agera R has a detachable storable hardtop with a glass roof.

3. Aston Martin One-77 ($1,000,000)
Released in 2010, this super car has a BHP of 750. It can go from 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds with a max speed of 220mph. This car is very rare with a limited number of 77 versions of this model ever made during production.

4. McClaren P1 ($800,000)
Expected release in 2013/2014, this super car has a BHP of 800. It can go from 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds with an unknown max speed. The P1 is touted to be one of the fastest cars on the planet. Time will tell.

5. Hennessey Venom GT ($800,000)
Released in 2012, this super car has a BHP of 1,244. It can go from 0-60mph in 2.7 seconds with a max speed of 278mph. The Venom GT is in the Guinness book of World Records for the fastest accelerating production car reaching 168mph in 13.63 seconds.

6. Pagani Huayra ($750,000)
Released in 2012, this super car has a BHP of 720. It can go from 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds with a max speed of 230mph. The Huayra is currently the fastest legal street car to ever go around the Top Gear test track.

7. Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid ($660,000)
Expected release in 2013, this super car has a BHP of 500. It can go from 0-60mph in 3.1 seconds with a max speed of 198mph. There are currently only 918 of these cars made in the world.

8. Tramontana XTR 2013 ($400,000)
Released in 2013, this super car has a BHP of 888. It is unknown neither how quickly it can accelerate 0-60 seconds or its max speed. This is a limited edition vehicle with only 12 of these models produced each year.

9. Ferrari F12 Berlinetta ($210,000)
Released in 2012, this super car has a BHP of 730. It can go from 0-60mph in 3 seconds with a max speed of 210mph. There were 100 launch models of this vehicle released in red each with an additional 10hp, napa leather seats, limited additional badge, and model number edged into the steering wheel.

10. Ferrari F70/F150/Enzo Hybrid
Expected release in 2013, this super car has a BHP of 920 but an unknown price, acceleration time, or max speed. This much anticipated vehicle is expected to be showcased at Geneva Motor Show in March 2013.

The greatest distance driven in one hour by a standard production car was 142,522 miles by M. Gilles and Mike Allen in a Saab 900 Turbo 900 at Talladego Superspeedway in Alabama in 1996.

Fastest Production Car
The fastest production car is the Bugatti Beyron 16.4 Super Sport which achieved a two way timed speed of 267.86mph at the Volkswagon providing grounds in Ehra-Lessien near Wolfsburg, Germany in 2010.
