Total wine consumption has been on the rise, passing 276 million cases a year with the core segment making up 20% of the population. This segment accounts for 91% of all wine consumption with 9% participating daily, 29% participating several times a week, and 19% consuming once a week. Of millennials, 51% of the total 70 million that drink wine, do so regularly. This has increased approximately 14% in the last five years. Generation X and Baby Boomers have also been seen increasing consumption more than 10% in recent years. In the United States alone, the market has increased 71 million cases of sales in the past ten years and is considered one of the most transformative industries in the 21st century.
