Here is an outline of seven characteristics to being a Project Manager. Where do you fall in?
1. Guidance
To be able to make the team collaborate and deliver the required results in a timely fashion, project managers need to exhibit excellent leadership skills.
2. Adaptability
A project manager should have regard for other people’s opinions and character. This trait should be exhibited even in the face of opposition. He should be able to convey the opinions of his team in a civil and courteous manner.
3. Detail Oriented
The project manager must pay attention to every detail required for the project to be executed. He should be able to deal with any point that may arise leading to delay of any form.
4. Delegate
At certain times, especially when the work load is much, the project manager should be able to involve his team in the process. It should be noted that a team is sometimes required to get the job done even if the project manager is a perfectionist.
5. Vision
One of the most important tasks of the project manager is planning. He should be able to engage in effective planning to achieve results in a timely fashion within the budget.
6. Creative
A creative project manager is a product of natural talent and insight. He must be able to think outside the conventional patterns.
7. Resourceful
Being resourceful implies being creative. It is the exhibition of that never give up spirit that makes him overcome obstacles and issues related to resource allocation.

The micro project manager overlooks no details. He leaves no stone unturned. He is abreast real time with respect to what his team is engaged in at each point in time. This type of manager is likely to be a perfectionist as he expects a regular update on the activities of his team.
